MASSES OF GRASSES
My poor blog has been neglected. Finally giving it some love with a new post. It is finally spring time and all the plants and animals and nature are coming to life. I draw a lot of my inspiration from nature. I took some time the other day to go out and explore a little bit and took notice of all the different tall grasses growing around me. I loved the slight variations of colors and how they were blowing in the wind, it was very calming. Here are a few photographs to illustrate, hope you are taking some time to enjoy the springtime!

ENDLESS SKIES
I recently made a trip back to Wisconsin and to Northern Wisconsin, and every time I am up there I am in awe of the beautiful skies and clouds, I always find my self taking pictures of the sky and clouds when I am up there. I took these photos while taking a walk around my grandparent’s house on a lake and decided to do a panoramic image composed of multiple different photographs and then stitched together, in order to capture the entire scene, and then the others are a few of the spring greens that were just starting to bloom

MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES continued….
Here’s a few of my favorite images from my trip up the mountain the other week, more new nature stuff coming soon!

MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES!!!
Lately with my new nature class I’ve gotten to spend a lot more time out in nature and exploring and I’m loving it, I’m going places I’ve never gone and I’m seeing things I’ve never seen before, its really been a great experience, the other night I went out and took a trip up the Figueroa Mountains behind where I live in Santa Ynez. The higher I went up the drive the more beautiful the sights were, I stopped at this clearing as the sun was setting and quickly snapped a few shots of the scene I saw and stitched them together in this panoramic in order to capture the moment, click on the photo to enlarge and see more detail:

The first week of my nature class we had a critter demo, Dennis Sheridan, an animal wrangler brought a variety of critters for use to interact with and use as subjects for our photography. There was a wide array from spiders, snakes, lizards, frogs, scorpions, millipedes, and all sorts of other things. It was a lot of fun and a great experience, here are a couple of my favorite images of the day

Above is a Leopard Gecko and Below is a Couch’s Spadefoot Toad

So it looks like spring is just starting out here in CA, I’m noticing buds and blossoms popping up all over the place so decided to venture out today and capture a few of them. Also gearing myself up for my nature class starting on Monday, very excited about that so I figured I’d get myself warmed up a bit, here’s a few of the images I got today, was lucky enough to have a little wildlife, so to speak, come in and make the images a little more interesting!

So these cats have been wandering around here for ever since I’ve been here and they kind of drive me crazy sometimes, and my dog too. But every once in a while they’re good for a photo or two I guess. Here’s some I took the other evening I was working on my computer and looked out the window and saw the two of them sitting out there on the fence as the sun was setting, it looked beautiful so I quickly got my camera and went outside to capture the moment, and here’s a couple of the shots.

Here’s an advertisement I designed for myself for an upcoming magazine, looking forward to seeing how it turns out in print. Wanted to include the various areas in which I do work photographically and then graphically as well as I designed the ad.
